The project aimed to minimize / mitigate water inflow to the Águas do Tejo Atlântico drainage systems, thus contributing to an improvement in the performance of drainage systems and also to reducing the impact of water inflow into the WWTPs.

DouroECI was responsible for modeling and calibrating the gravity sewer systems, assess infiltration and inflows and design solutions to mitigate such inflows. The job includes the modeling and calibration of about 50 km of sewer networks using about 30 flowmeters and 3 rain gauges which allow inflow correlation with rain events.
