AquaRating (AR) is a rating system for drinking water and wastewater utilities developed as an initiative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)with the collaboration of the International Water Association (IWA). The basic objective of this system is to perform comprehensive assessment of water and wastewater utilities based on assessment elements organized into areas, each of which is assigned a rating.

It will be implemented in 4 Phases in three utilities (Huambo, Malange and Uíge) in Angola.

Phase 1: Preparation for AR: training and self-assessment.

Phase 2: Remote validation and reports.

Phase 3: AR Appraisal Workshop and presentation of reports.

Phase 4: Constraints and lessons learnt from AR.
