The projected solution foresees the creation of a crossing of the Cávado river to transport the flow from the north bank to the south bank and, already on that bank, the installation of a pumping station to collect the totality of the residual water and its elevation to the head of the Areias de Vilar WWTP.
Given the various difficulties in the installation of this work, both the crossing itself and the pumping station, a solution was analyzed for routing residual water to the Areias de Vilar WWTP, which reverses the direction of transport currently verified in the system.
